About this mod

"What? You think I'm just gonna stand there and take it?"

Deal critical hits and perform moving attacks to quickly increase your ENERGY!

This mod completely gets rid of the "lose to win" aspect of the energy bar and replaces it with an SMT-inspired system that rewards the player for utilizing the game mechanics:

Old system

  • Battle starts with 3 ENERGY
  • Gain 1 ENERGY every time a friend gets hurt
  • Follow-up moves costs 3
  • RELEASE ENERGY costs 10

New system

  • Battle starts with no ENERGY
  • Follow-up moves costs 3
  • RELEASE ENERGY costs 20

When a foe is attacked

  • Normal hit: +1
  • Critical hit: +3
  • Strong hit: +3
  • Weak hit: -3
  • Miss: -3

When a friend is attacked

  • Normal hit: -1
  • Critical hit: -3
  • Strong hit: -3
  • Weak hit: +0
  • Miss: +0
  • Guard: +0

Notes

  • This mod makes the game significantly easier if you know what you are doing (use my other mod to make battles a little more balanced).
  • For some reason, the bar does not display 0 at the start of a battle but will display it properly if the ENERGY goes back to 0 later on.
  • Hero's tutorial and SELF-HELP GUIDE are slightly altered to take the new rules into account.
